Arisinoitherium belonged to the extinct mammals of the order Embithopoda. It is related to elephants and lived in north aAfrica from 27 to 30 million years ago. They would have resembled todays rhinoceros. Arisinoitherium had a pair of enormous horns above its nose and a second set of tiny knob horns aver its eye. The jaw had 44 teeth and suggest that it was a very selective browser, feeding on particular plants and grasses.
